At the present time, we do not have an
online ordering process available. This site is still in the design stage
and we hope to have an online process in place by the end of October 2002.
You can order photographs by printing and filling out an ORDER
FORM and sending it by snail mail or by sending an email with
the file names of the prints your are interested in. We will then follow
up with a total for your order.
Each photo on this site has a file name
that you will use when ordering. The file names are listed right below the
thumbnail images. For example, the file names are listed such as:
05acar68 - This is an photographic print
of Denny Hulme (below) in a Can-Am car at Riverside in 1968.
Photographic Terms:
Full Frame: This is a print that contains
everything on the negative. The image size has not been modified. An example
of full frame print is a 4x6 or an 8x12 photograph (2 units high by 3 units
long). The image below is full frame, exactly as on the negative.
8x10 print: An 8x10 is actually
an 8x12 photo with 2 inches cropped from the length. All 8x10's are cropped
photographs. The image below is the same image as an 8x10.
Notice that the print is the
same in height and the car in the same size, but the length of the print is
two inches shorter.
Cropping: This is when a print has been
changed so that the car image appears larger on the print. The image below
is the same image only after special cropping.
As you can see, the outer
parts of the above 8x12 photo have been removed and the car image is larger.
Prints Types:
We are now offering our prints in photographic
prints only and no longer offer inkjets. We had only limited interest in
the inkjet prints and it was too costly to continue to offer this format.
Photographic Enlargements - Many of the
photos we have in stock at the present time were produced by a photo lab
from inter-negatives made from the original slides. When a new batch of
prints is needed, we are now converting to a digital process. The original
slides or negatives are scanned at high resolution, cropped and adjusted
as needed, and transferred to a CD. The lab we are now using has a Frontier
photo processing unit that uses a laser to transfer the digital image to
photographic paper. The quality is excellent and is consistent from batch
to batch. These are not inkjets prints! The prints are developed using a
convention photo chemical process.
Print Sizes:
Prints are available in 8x10 and 8x12,
depending on the image. The sizes are shown under each thumbnail. If the
print is offered in 8x12, it can normally be printed in a larger 10x15 format.
Just provide the file name by email and we will let you know if it can be
printed in the 10x15 size.
Notations:
A few of the photos will have a notation
regarding a soft focus, a stain or other imperfections. This will alert
you to take a closer look at the photo. We are offering these photos because
they are images that are not readily available anywhere and we believe they
still look good and the noted imperfection does not detract from the overall
image. It's your decision to make. If you have any questions, please contact

10x15 Photographic Prints
$15.00 each. Please inquire about the photo
you are interested in. These are not kept in stock and must be special ordered.
Additional shipping will apply due to the increased size and type of packaging
needed.
20x30 Poster Prints
$39.95 each plus $7.00 shipping. Please
inquire about the print you are interested in, as not all can be done at
this size. These poster prints are also special order. These prints are
being produced on a large, high quality, archival ink Epson Inkjet printer
and printed at high resolution. Epson states that prints done with this
archival (resin impregnated) ink will not fade and will outlast regular
photographs. We have recently had these done and they look really nice.
These poster prints are less than half the price of a custom photographic
print. The nice thing about these prints is that they are done from a digital
file so we control the color, contrast and cropping to achieve exactly what
we are looking for.
Other sizes of photographic prints are
available upon request. Some photographs cannot be enlarged without becoming
grainy. This is due to the film that was available at the time, lighting
conditions and whether the image is already cropped. Films from 30 years
ago did not have the fine grain that is available today. Prints larger than
10x15 are normally done at a custom photo lab to ensure the highest quality.
We have purchased 20x30 full frame photos, processed by Ferrari Color in
Sacramento California, and the quality is absolutely awesome. Please contact
us for prices.
Shipping:
All items are shipped US Mail in cardboard
reinforced envelopes with the photo inserted in a manila file folder. We
have experienced only one problem in over 1,500 shipments and it was shipped
to Minnesota in the winter. We have received excellent feedback on our shipping
processes.

If you request insurance, additional charges

you feel it is necessary.
If you are located outside the United States,
we will ship using Air Mail Letter Post which takes 4-7 days to arrive.
You may be charged custom duties on your prints depending on the custom
rules of your home country.
Enlargements - please inquire on shipping
charges as some may need to be shipped in a tube to lessen the chance of
damage.
California Sales Taxes:
SALES
TAXES are charged to any customer who resides in California.
The rate in Calaveras County, where we are located, is currently 7.25% and
is applied to the cost of the products you purchase. Taxes do not apply
to shipping charges. To look up applicable taxes for your purchase, go to
the TAX TABLE.
Delivery:
Prints normally ship within 2 days of receiving
payment by money order or through PayPal. Personal checks will delay shipping
until checks clear, which is normally 5 days. If you have good feedback
from eBay auctions, the items will be shipped upon receipt of your check.
Shipping may be delayed on rare occasions due to out of stock photo prints.
We usually have all prints in stock.
PayPal:
PayPal is a new process that allows anyone
with email to send money, using a credit card or check, to anyone with an
email account, without a processing fee. New members to PayPal receive a
sign-up bonus of $5.00. There is no charge to sign up. You will provide
PayPal with a credit card number one time, and then all transactions are
completed without ever transmitting the account number again. Now that's
safety. You can transmit funds to your kids in college, a relative overseas,
make payments to sellers on eBay and Amazon auctions, just about anything
you can think of. They only need to have email. Here's a link to sign up.
After you have established an account,
you merely go to the PayPal site, fill out a couple of items on a form outlining
the transaction amount and recipients email name, and click send. You will
receive a confirmation email which provides an overview of the transaction
within minutes. That's it!! Within minutes, the funds are transmitted to
the recipient's account. If you transfer funds from a checking
account it will take a couple of days to clear. It's quite a

Purchasing Photographs:
You can make purchases three
ways:
You can now purchase using
our online order process. Simply click the "PayPal - Add to Cart"
button under each photo and the item will be added to a shopping cart.
Choose the quantity you wish to order and then click "Continue Shopping".
There is also an "Update Cart" button you can click when you
choose a quantity of two or more of any item. When you are done shopping
you can:
1) Use the online payment
process using PayPal. Go to "Checkout" and complete the PayPal
payment process. The shipping charges and California Sales Tax (California
residents only) will be added during the checkout process. After you
submit payment, you will receive a confirmation email from PayPal outlining
your purchase. Once we receive confirmation of your payment, we will
contact you by email and confirm receipt of your order. Your order should
ship the next day.
Note: The PayPal system
is not programed at this time to allow for quantity discounts like we
provide. If you purchase more than 5 prints, we will send your refund
by PayPal immediately upon receipt. Your refund will be based on the
price break for 6 - 10 prints ($9.00) and 11 - or more prints ($8.00).

2) If
you do not want to pay using PayPal, print the completed PayPal order
form, add the applicable shipping charges and California Sales Tax explained
above and send the order form and payment to: Pat

3) You can also place
an order using our website order form. Print our website order form
using this link.
Fill out the form and mail it with your payment (cash, check or money
order) made out to Pat Smith, to the address at the top of the form.
You can also email us with
the file names and quantities, your name
and address, and we will follow up by email with the totals. You would
then send your payment, along with the email we sent to you, by mail.
If you would like to use
PayPal for payment, but don't want to use the online process, email us
with the file names and quantity of the photos you would like to order.
We also need to know your address to determine the shipping amount and
California sales taxes, if applicable. We will provide you with an invoice
with the totals. You can then click a link in the invoice to send your
payment through PayPal and your order will be on the way the next day.
